Teaching an AI agent to quote bulk pricing correctly

48 to 72 hours — how long an AI sales agent holds stock against a bulk quote

How we structure tiers, stock rules and approval limits so the agent never undersells you.

Start with tiers, not exceptions

Most wholesalers already have informal bulk pricing — a per-unit discount past a certain quantity, sometimes negotiated case by case. Before the agent can quote correctly, that informal logic needs to become an explicit tier table: quantity bands, prices, and which products they apply to.

Stock and reservation rules

A quote is only useful if the stock is real. The agent checks live inventory before quoting a bulk price, and can place a short hold — typically 48 to 72 hours — so the customer has time to confirm without the stock being sold elsewhere first.

Where the agent stops and a human starts

Every business sets an approval ceiling: order size, discount depth, or a specific customer list that always routes to a human before confirming. The agent quotes and reserves; it doesn't have authority to go below the floor price without sign-off.
